Note on Charitable Activities

Skill Development and Livelihood Enhancement Initiatives Targeted at Rural Youth

1. Background and Objective

The Trustees, though presently located across Chennai, Angul (Odisha), and Bengaluru, share deep-rooted socio-economic linkages with rural India. Recognising the structural employability gap among rural youth both educated and under-matriculate the Trust proposes to institutionalise structured skill development and livelihood enhancement programmes.

The primary objective is to enhance employability, facilitate industry absorption, and promote sustainable income generation through targeted vocational and workplace readiness interventions.

2. Nature of Charitable Activities

The Trust shall undertake the following charitable activities:

  • Vocational skill training aligned with manufacturing, MSME, and hospitality sector requirements.
  • Basic technical training for under-matriculate youth.
  • Industry-oriented soft skills development including communication, discipline, workplace ethics, and safety awareness.
  • Pre-placement orientation and career counselling.
  • Facilitation of placement linkages with industrial units, service establishments, and hotel industry stakeholders.
  • Periodic mentoring and post-placement support to ensure sustainability of employment.

These initiatives shall be implemented strictly on a not-for-profit basis and in furtherance of public charitable objectives.

3. Mode of Implementation

The Trust may implement its activities through:

  • Direct training programmes conducted by qualified trainers.
  • Partnerships with industrial units, hospitality establishments, MSMEs, and training institutions.
  • Collaboration with skill development agencies and government-recognised institutions where appropriate.
  • Batch-based structured programmes with defined curriculum and outcome tracking.

Documentation, attendance, assessment records, and placement data shall be maintained to ensure transparency and measurable impact.

4. Target Beneficiaries

The primary beneficiaries shall include:

  • Rural youth (both male and female) from economically weaker backgrounds.
  • Educated youth seeking industry-oriented skill alignment.
  • Under-matriculate youth requiring foundational vocational training.
  • Individuals requiring structured support for entry into manufacturing and hospitality sectors.

Selection shall be merit- and need-based, without discrimination on grounds of religion, caste, gender, or community.

5. Geographical Area of Operation

The Trust proposes to undertake its activities primarily within the State of Tamil Nadu, especially in regions impacted by industrialisation, with the possibility of expansion to other parts of India, including Odisha and Karnataka, as resources and institutional capacity permit.

6. Governance, Financial Discipline and Compliance

The Trust shall ensure:

  • Proper maintenance of books of accounts and statutory records.
  • Application of funds solely for its stated charitable objects.
  • Compliance with applicable provisions of the Income-tax Act, 1961, and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Periodic review by the Board of Trustees to assess effectiveness and impact.
  • Transparent reporting of activities and financial utilisation.

All programmes shall operate within the framework of accountability, governance discipline, and public interest.

7. Status of Activities

The Trust is in the process of conceptualising and structuring its skill development framework, identifying training partners, and mapping potential industry linkages. Pilot initiatives may be undertaken in select locations prior to scaled implementation.

8. Compliance Declaration

The Trust confirms that its activities are genuine, charitable in nature, and carried out in the interest of public welfare. The Trust does not engage in religious activities nor restrict its programmes to any particular religious community or caste. Activities are undertaken solely for the purpose of promoting livelihood, employability, and social upliftment.

9. Conclusion

The proposed skill development and livelihood enhancement initiatives reflect the Trust's commitment to inclusive growth, economic empowerment, and structured social impact. By bridging the gap between rural potential and industrial opportunity, the Trust aims to contribute meaningfully to sustainable community development and nation-building
